The material used in the later Rega RB250 and 300s is a silicon alloy which was developed by Rega to maximize conductivity, so it is not some random "plastic" for sure. It does help that mine has a Grace f9e on it and that cart does seem to like the r200 which has an effective mass in the mid teens.
